If Only They Knew (Chapter 33)

i'm posting? what a surprise lol. sorry that this wasn't up any sooner. i have more written and i think its safe to say that there will be less than a month's time between my next post lol.

Before any of them had time to think a car pulling into the driveway could be heard. They then heard the car doors close and approaching footsteps. The Jonas parents walked in and could almost instantly tell that something was going on.

Denise: I have something to tell you! Wait, whats going on with you guys?

Family secrets were not kept for long. Maybe everyone was just nosy or just to open with the rest of the family. Either way secrets practically didn't exist. Except for one major one which was about to be history anyway.
Nick: Some gossip magazines got a hold of pictures of us.
Denise: Those writers are ridiculous. Don't they have any better stories to report?
Nick: Well, they're....lets just say that don't set the best example of our "family influenced" band.
Denise: Let me see them.
Nick handed the magazine with his and Anna's pictures over to his parents. He went back to reach for the second magazine containing Melissa's pictures, but before he could grab it Melissa had pushed it on the floor and out of sight. The parents skimmed over the magazine article and the pictures. Kevin Sr. was the first to speak.
Kevin Sr.: Nick, are these real?
Nick: Yes. They—
Anna: I am so sorry! This is all my fault. I shouldn't have taken those pictures I should have—

Kevin Sr.: You cant change the fact that you took the pictures. The press takes every chance they have to take a stab at any one of our family members. Just if we are behaving in a way that we wouldn't want to people to see maybe its not appropriate behavior in the first place.
Anna: I know. I'm really sorry.
Nick: Me too, Dad.
Kevin Sr.: The press is going to be all over this so be prepared if you go out. Right now our response is No comment. Until I talk to some people and figure out how to go about this. Nick, I have a few things to say to you about this, later though.
Nick: I'm sorry Dad, but there's—
Melissa: Mom! What did you have to tell us? (She glared at Nick and shook her head at him. She wanted to keep article a secret a little longer.)
Denise: Oh yeah. Okay it seems kind of off subject now, but its some good news in this situation. Its about the European tour. The entire family is going with!
Melissa: That's awesome, Mom!
Denise: I know. I cant wait. I'm going to start dinner.
Melissa: Nick, can you come help me with that thing in the other room?
Nick: Yeah, that thing.

He had time to walk through the doorway before Melissa tugged him down the hall and into her room.
Kevin Sr.: (to Anna) Do I want to know?
Anna: I don't think so.
Kevin Sr.: I guess Ill leave it at that for now.
Anna: Haha yeah

-With Nick and Melissa-
Nick: They're going to find out about your article. You cant keep this one a secret.
Melissa: Yeah, not forever, but for a little longer. I just need to buy some time so I can think of an excuse. Once she sees the pictures one thing will lead to another and shell find out...that I'm not...not..
Nick: A virgin anymore?
Melissa: Shh! If she knows that everything will be on the table. I would like for my parents not to know that I was pregnant and had a miscarriage all while on tour and behind their backs. Ill tell them sometime, but not now. So keep your mouth shut. Tell Anna that too.
Nick: The longer you wait the worse you are making it for yourself.
Anna: Just let me do this my way, alright?
Nick: Fine, but don't come to me for any help.
