My older sister has TSC. She's 24 and happy and healthy. She had all her major complications as a kid but she's doing great now. This is fantastic that there is awareness because people can be ignorant. Her whole life she's been made fun of for having "acne". She goes to school and she's working. She'll probably outlive me lol. More people need to be educated. Thanks for uploading.

Hi my name is Emily. I am from Australia. My fiancee had a heart attack 2.5 years ago. he had undiagnosed Tuberous Sclerosis. He died as a result to that heart attack because at the time he was riding his motorbike. now my son, 4 years old and autistic has tuberous sclerosis. i love watching these videos as a reminder of hope.

I currently care for a woman of 35 that has TSC...she is severley retarded..non verbal and she has SIB's.
She came from an institution when she was about 12 and placed in a group home.
she was abandoned by her Russian parents at the age of 3 months. I try to help her live a fulfilled life....and she does.

Not necessarily. In fact many, if not a majority, of spontaneous mutations probably occur after conception. The result is called "samatic mosaicism."
