This is a clip from Steve Jobs' excellent commencement speech at Stanford University in 2005, Obviously, we generally all wish to live...and to avoid death at (almost) all costs...however we need to understand how being conscious of the reality of death can be of great value in making us more present and more able to live in each moment of life.

The connection between death and the mechanism of evolution is profoundly critical if we are to become able to evaluate the significance/meaning of our own existence.

The practical elegance of Jobs' formulation of this perennial wisdom is but one more example of his hard headed and, I dare say....warm hearted, brilliance!

Steve Jobs passed away last night....may he rest in peace......and may we all strive to become willing and able to learn the lessons contained in this remarkable four minute message!!!
