http://home.gate.net/~healournation/ Technocalyps is an intriguing three-part documentary on the notion of transhumanism by Belgian visual artist and filmmaker Frank Theys. The latest findings in genetics, robotics, artificial intelligence, bionics and nanotechnology appear in the media every day, but with no analysis of their common aim: that of exceeding human limitations. The director conducts his enquiry into the scientific, ethical and metaphysical dimensions of technological development. The film includes interviews by top experts and thinkers on the subject worldwide, including Marvin Minsky, Terence McKenna, Hans Moravec, Bruce Sterling, Robert Anton Wilson, Richard Seed, Margareth Wertheim, Kirkpatrick Sale, Ralph C. Merkle, Mark Pesce, Ray Kurzweil, Rabbi Youssouf Kazen, Rael and many others.

  • This is so disturbing - beyond words!!! I nearly cried for that little monkey.......this is SICK. I can def see into the future where they WILL have 2 types of humans....the organic type (me) and the new version 2 homo type ...OMG they are creating a sub human type simply by have this technology bcoz many ppl alive today will not want the ""úpgrades'" BUT some time in the future it will beocme the norm

  • Watch the whole film and read between the lines. The rich and powerful will become higher life forms and will wipeout the ones they deem useless.

  • The narrator seems so scared.

  • This technology is powerful, but the best way to meet the challenges of a powerful technology is to meet it head on with eyes wide open. I trust most people, not all. But the best thing to do is work to make the technology as accesible as possible. Talk about stronger arms and better eyes are very superficial possibilities.

  • @gethsoftware the whole thing is scary. I dont trust ppl and the control this type of interface would bring with it. It all sounds so good for humanity but ppl dont realise there are those creating these for control. Also science without boundaries or morality is very dangerous,

  • @Powerbug7777 ............... that was allways the possibility. it allways is. most liekly its its better then we fear, worse then we hoped. like so many things.

  • @Badwolf182 who knows. not only is that dificult. but its allso what kind of upgrades. if you have ability to see in dark, it means you are unable to see colors? the clumsy arm made to raise up heavy stuff might not be able to do things that the ultra sharp biotic hand can. how about genetic implants and gene therapy? this question is hard. its like question between electricity, and without one. can one be part of socaity without internet?

  • In the eyes of many hell is described as eternal separation from God. Mankind throughout history has been trying to fill a hole in their meaning of life and reason for existance. A hole that can only be filled with the only true pure form of perfection. This idea of transhumanism becoming like God is the same lie that satin claimed before he was cast out of heaven. I think it was Hitler that said "a lie told often enough will be accepted as truth. This is the same lie. An evil sales pitch.

  • You will become like God. That lie has gotten some serious mileage.

  • bad news for all who think our Creator will allow this to fully come to pass. God will set these devils into their proper habitation when the door of salvation is closed.repent befor its to late.Acts 2:37-38

  • Gee a bionic eye would be so neat-o! I don't see the harm in it.. unless of course there's more to that little chip then the manufacturer told your unwitting nazi..er transhumanist surgeon... could it be used for mind control or some other nefarious means? Maybe it could give a person an 'expiration date'... nah... that's just paranoid silliness... right?
