Only for you not for them.

Well, that would certainly be a sight to see. It would be pretty hard to tell how I would react to such a crowd because I'm not a professional. I'm tempted to say that I might break down crying myself and that would dishonor the spirit of the poetry.

Excellent, Excellent, Drew 10 Stars. If you came into a little country church back where I was raised, and did this reading with the same passion the congregation would have shouted the walls down. :)

Drew, you certainly know how to bring this material to Life! And yes, it chokes me up, everytime I hear it done well. During my high school days, we performed the musical setting by Roy Ringwald. Unforgettable music.

Wow! That's impressive if someone can set this poem to music. When was it composed? Solo or chorus?

Thank you. These were the poems heard during my childhood through college years. The post-Civil rights generations have not heard, nor have awareness, interest and respect for this poetry and the music of a Dett, etc. The recent generations (1970...) are preoccupied with rap and hip-hop, Cliff's notes versions of creativity (sic).

You're very welcome. There's only one solution to your problem, recruit a youth movement. 8)
