ORBIS Eye Report 5 - Meet Riyya in Kaduna, Nigeria 2010

這次焦點追擊跟隨國際奧比斯眼科飛機醫院來到尼日利亞北部城市卡杜納。

3歲的Riyya跟著媽媽，從150里外的贊法拉來到奧比斯飛機醫院的停駐地 卡杜納。由於眼疾的關係，性格内向的Riyya顯得十分害羞，也不太跟其他人接觸，Riyya的媽媽說女兒整天都活在黑暗當中，根本沒辦法接觸到外面的世界。

經過印度班加羅爾小兒眼科專家 Dr. Jyoti Matalia的診斷後，決定為Riyya在飛機醫院上進行白內障手術。

We are pleased to bring you the first ORBIS EyeReport from the Flying Eye Hospital program in Kaduna, Nigeria.

Meet Riyya, a 3-year-old girl from Zamfara, Nigeria, who traveled with her mother 150 miles to the ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital program in Kaduna. A shy-timid child, Riyyas social development was hindered by her blindness, and according to her mother, was living in a world of darkness and finding it difficult to reach-out to the world around her.

After examination by Dr. Jyoti Matalia, Consultant & Head, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus, & Pediatric Neuro-Ophthalmology Narayana Nethralaya II in Bangalore, Índia, it was decided that Riyya would undergo cataract surgery aboard ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital.
