A short spot on the benefits of geothermal heating & cooling. Bud & Velma Hay share their experience getting a WaterFurnace geothermal heat pump installed and we visit the WaterFurnace factory.
How can you say someone was BS'ing you? You were told up front that your electric bill would double? Of course I'm assuming that you were previously paying an average of about $90.00/mo on your electric bill prior to installing the geothermal. I don't know how larger your home is, but $50K for a geothermal install seems quite high for only one system.
In these testamonials, none of the 'savings' are ever spelled out.
For example, of the several quotes for a Geo install, each of the installers admits our electric bill will almost double. So, after the 50K cost to install, we save $1200 on oil, but we still owe an extra $90 month for electric. We come out even. I find that the incentives we receive are an opportunity for the installers to gouge us. Someone's BS ing me.
