@qwan1231 So. Its your supposition that they are given everything by the government (except complete independence). But they are still angry and ungrateful. For no reason. So a bunch of poor, simply living people, who have been quietly living under Chinese rule for generations, have suddenly became angry and violent. @qwan1231 I agree there are many things you know that I don't. But the value of news is that it can provide a perspective that you can't see with your own eyes. Why do you think they refuse? A guess (really, I am humbly guessing): chinese society is extremely competitive for *everyone*...even Han chinese. Even the urban and middle class. So what chance does a Uigher have? Being poor and rural? Even if they give up everything and conform. So why give up everything?

@qwan1231 And I can understand your passion about speaking against violent acts. Life is complex, and difficult, and hard. And not fair. Not fair at all. It is the way of things. But as we all just try to get through life, we can't start to see some people as "better" than others. That's my only point. Because I agree with you that violence, while sometimes the only thing we can think of to do (we are human and imperfect), is never "right." No matter who does it.

Jews kept themselves apart in Europe for centuries...because they weren't accepted even when they tried. The Amish in the US live apart (a religious community). They support themselves, so why do I care? So ask yourself, why do *you* think they refuse to do certain things?

Just admit it. When its "your" group, its permissible. When its another...its wrong. That, rather then defending every act by U's, was my point.
