  • Lmfao I swear, there is no humanity in a video like this. His precision, his power, his speed and the technicality within his drumming technique..he's a fucking robot. That is THE only explanation.

  • his drumming makes me moist in my rude places

  • @NoaOno and for your information... tomas haake learned from danny carey on how to play drums. yea meshuggah plays with some interesting time signatures...but danny has the skill of playing his drum set with three SEPERATE time signatures at once. if you're really not a drummer, you have no say in who is the best if you dont understand the whole meaning and complexity of drumming. not only does danny carey get lost in his own music, he explores every meaning of percussion...more than just drums

  • @slanderous19803 much agreed

  • @NoaOno so do you play drums? I love complex music and for you to say as someone who most likely is not a drummer that Danny's drumming isn't as complex as the prog drummers out there you're sadly mistaken. I've listened to many prog bands and all of their drummers sound exactly the same. They are robots. Danny Carey puts so much feel into songs that you can tell instantly that he is playing.

  • @iWentToNam Yup I like complex music, that's how I know that this drummer isn't by far the best in the world. One famous example is meshuggah, maybe you don't like the music but that's far more tricky for the drummer than Tool. Danny is good, but don't say he is best or god, that's pathetic.

  • @NoaOno LOL you think he has no groove? i saw them live, holy crap hes a good drummer, he played this awesome solo during "Schism" and its freaking complicated stuff. but yer if you think he has no skill go listen to Eulogy or Lateralus, he is definately no average drummer, besides when you get on a drum kit. it is the most impossible shit to play! seriously impossible to play for even a good drummer

  • @worldcitizenforever He is one of the best drummers ever, you will have to admit. However, I will agree that Tool has programmed shows. Tool hasn't been spontaneous for years. They repeat playlists year after year, so yea, he's playing these over and over and over. Especially when they aren't currently putting out a new album. Anyone can go to any playlist sight and see that unfortunately they are all very similar for years... :(

  • @steinarao "Tool is very complex music." True. But it's hard to put my finger on it, but maybe he and his style is just a bit old? I don't know... The groove is missing in his playing. But I just started thinking of some Aenima songs, I think Jimmy, and started remember the his experimentality, creativity, niceness. Maybe Tool songs shouldn't have groove.

The drummer in my new fav band by the way, Periphery, is THE god of groove. Heh. But it's totally different ways of using musical skills.

  • @NoaOno Dude, danny carey was a jazz drummer, he has been studying so many different drummer technique, I love metal, and death metal, for example: Meshuggah, Decapitated, Opeth, Katakalysm, my two favorite drummers are Danny Carey and Tomas Haake. It's not all about speed and what you can play, it's about the music you can create. Tool is very complex music.

  • I laugh at Danny Carey as one of the best in history. We're talking skills now?

He plays really nice in the tool songs, like that stuff, but hm takes an average drummer to that. Just accept that he ain't no drum god guys! If you want proof of hundreds of better drummers, dig into some jazz and metal. Prog.
