custom Telecaster copy Dimarzio Joe neck Seymour Duncan little 59 bridge pickups, Roland micro cube amp. A Sailor's Life, traditional English folk song, after Fairport Convention's arrangement.
Well a sailor's life it is a merry life
they rob young girls of their heart's delight
leaving them behind to weep and mourn
they never know if they will return
well there's four and twenty all in a row
my sweet William makes the finest show
he's proper tall, genteel withall
and if I canlt have him I'll have none at all
O father build for me a bonny boat
that on the wide ocean, I may float
and every Queen's ship that we pass by
I'll make enquiries of my sailor boy
well we hadn't been 4 days on the deep
but a Queen's ship we chanced to meet
pray sailors all, please tell me true
does my sweet William sail among your crew?
Oh no fair maiden, he is not here
for he's been drownded we greatly fear
on yon green island, as we passed by
there we lost sight of your sailor boy
well she wrung her hands, and she tore her hair
she was a woman in great despair
her little ship on the rocks was thrown
how can i live now my sweet William is gone
is it just D during ther whole song? (fairport's version)????
fantastic by the way!!!

@stephenhayesuk
Thanks for the quick reply! I've become quite obsessed with Fairport's rendition of this, so I'm hunting out the chords and this has been the only useful lead!
