Billie Holiday singing Trav'lin Light (1958)

Recorded November 18, 1958, this is a French T.V. broadcast at Music Hall Parade, a weekly programme hosted by Gilles Margarites. Billie sang I Only Have Eyes For You and Trav'lin' Light. A video tape of this programme exists and it is the property of Michel Fontanes who also owns the copyright.

Here, she is singing Trav'lin Light written by Johnny Mercer & Jimmy Mundy. She is at the end of her life and her health is decreasing, but she still sings her heart out.

I have on a "live" cassette of Billie she is singing this song three months later or so at the Newport Jazz Festival, Buddy Collette and a host of old timers barely able to walk, although unscheduled, on their own, took to the stage to play along a very sick Billie, 6 months later she would be dead. I have the live recording but would love to see the video - hint

It's hard to believe that eight (8) months after this performance, the Lady passed away (July 17, 1959). Love this video, thanks much for the share.
