!! YOU TUBE CRIME WAVE !! This was the first successful TV run for Georges Simenon's Inspector Maigret that ran for four series of 13 episodes between 1960 and 1963. Georges Simenon himself adapted some first series episodes for BBC television. This is the final 50 minute episode of series 4. Although revived to great success by ITV in the early 90s with Michael Gambon in the lead role, the public still holds great affection for this version with Rupert Davies.
Amazing how the memory hangs onto some things - when I saw the cafe proprietor Gaston I said "That's Barry Letts". Considering he went behind the camera as producer / director in the late 60s, well done my brain !
( I checked it on imdb)
