58th National Day of Prayer - Eric Rust Cedar Hills Sandpoint Idaho

Cedar Hills Church Lead Pastor Eric Rust participated in the 58th National Day of Prayer at Farmin Park in Sandpoint, Idaho on Thursday, May 7, 2009. Bashful Dan took some pictures of Betsy Miller and Lynn Whaley and Eric Rust at the event and made this little video. The American Flag is carried by Veteran and Spirit of the Eagle Winner Bob Johnson and next to him is his grandson Jason Johnson. The prayer gathering was by the clocktower and the Jeff Jones Town Square in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Clarification.....When I said Jesus prayed for forgiveness at the cross, obviously he was praying for humanity not himself.

wagzel, you are applying a lesson on pride to the act of prayer. Was Jesus mistaken when he prayed at his baptism? Was Jesus mistaken when he prayed at Lazarus' tomb? Was he mistaken when he prayed for forgiveness at the cross? Furthermore it was customary for the high priest to pray publicly in the Old Testament. Why wouldn't Jesus our High Priest do the same for us?

Matthew 6:5-15 And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. I'm curious as to where you found this lesson in the bible. Please elaborate.

Jesus taught one prayer and that is be done in private. He mocked those who prayed publicly.
