Yasser Payne speaks fire and truth to a major issue within the Black community which is the deminishing education of Black youth and how racist white and Black (negro-black) teachers within these communities ultimately prepare these Black youth for street life and prison.
soon to be Nation of Black Unity~ present to you...:
Educational fire! part 1
race, inequality, acting white, violence, prison...all taking place in the schools.
is the US born African male's perspective of learning essentially acting white?
You can always tell how successfully or poorly a society is doing when you look at it's youth..not rocket science..i dont know that education per se is the answer but your time is occupied more constructively and you lower the chances of the streets getting ahold to you..less time for jail, pregnancy, trouble, drugs?! maybe...when you in the books...thats one line of thinking..school might buy you a bit more time...dunno how much validity this holds though..

@scampbell04 I wish my mother fought, but she couldn't. She was nursing supervisor at the time. We had a step-father, but he really didn't take care of us always staying out in the street. Those teachers told my mother lies about me. I could've been farther ahead in life than now, but I am grateful for what I have. I build and work my time around computers. I even built one. That'll be my next career move of course.

I remember when I was growing up being placed in a Special Ed class. They taught us not a darn thing. Everyone was bad in the class. Some of those kids had minor disabilities, but nothing bad enough to be in there. There were: ADHD, dyslexia and dyscalculia ( That being me ). Those kids had many talents, but were the same as the regular kids conformed to bad practices and single parents-- most of them had parent homes, but had misfits.

He is not lying about special education. My son was tracked for special education and I had to fight like hell to get him out. PARENTS MUST BE INVOLVED.
You must learn the law and read up on the policies because if not they will put your children anywhere.

@orto2437 If one wants access to capital, one should be credit worthy. Minority 8(a) companies have advantages for securing federal government contracts and business. Internet = information, the world grows smaller every day. Don't embrace white culture -- embrace American culture. Family, hard work and education are American values. I know many extremely successful black men and women, don't you?

@indypacer It is that complicated. and you forgot numbers five and six: 5) have access to vital resources such as capital, information, oppertunities, and so forth. 6) embrace white culture and do not question it's validity .The reality of government intervention throughout this century coflicts your nieve belief in in hard work pays off rubbish. Resources have been exclusivly allocated towards specific groups throughout this country's history.

Students should be taught successful people posses following characteristics: 1) strong work ethic 2) value education 3) take responsibility for themselves 4) respect others. Too much of the black community is failing because too many black men are irresponsible. 70% of black children have no father in their household. I'm sure the teacher would make an argument that it's not the fathers' fault they desert their children. The teacher says it's complicated -- it is not that complicated.
