Wegmans crowds up to nine hens into tiny, barren cages at its company-run egg facility, allowing each hen less than half a square foot of space. These animals are forced to live in their own waste and on top of the corpses of their cage-mates. A team of investigators from Compassionate Consumers found hens at Wegmans Egg Farm with severe infections and suffering from extreme dehydration. Some hens were trapped in the mesh of their cages, and others were drowning in liquid manure.

The cruel battery cage system used by Wegmans has been banned in the European Union, and many food service companies, universities, and national grocery chains such as Whole Foods and Wild Oats have pledged to no longer sell or use battery cage eggs. Please seek out alternatives to battery cage eggs, and ask Wegmans to work with The Humane Society of the United States to improve these inhumane conditions.

  • @1alchen i was vegan for a month and vegitairian for a year but then i realized as long as you know and are positive your animal product is coming from then that's better then not eating meat at all because your promoting the better food company. its natural for us to eat meat and animals products

  • but humans r omnivores.......i wish i could become a vegan. i admire u guys' strength and pure souls. im trying. its jus so hard.

  • BASTA MENEFREGHISMO ,VOI CONSUMATORI SIETE I MANDANTI DI TUTTO QUESTO ,STOP OMICIDI ,RIDOTTI COME AD UN CAMPO D CONCETRAMENTO ,BASTAAAA è,,è

  • @LordArion201 i also cry and cry again when i rewatch this movie. i am vegan, animalist. human is the biggest garbage on the face of this planet.

  • I wish that there were some documentaries and investigations which also showed farms that do have better standards for their animals, such as that people could make informed choices. I think that an agenda pushing for the abolition of all animal usage by humans ultimately hurts the cause of animal welfare on a practical level.

  • LIES AND SLANDER!

  • Seeing this "factory farm" footage is very difficult. Chickens should never have to live like that!

I have pet chickens & they run around the yard all day & are so happy, and so they produce the most beautiful eggs I have ever seen! Not to mention excellent pest control

  • humans like to think they are above animals, but any objective assessment of the facts shows that humans top the list of brutal and cruel behavior towards fellow creatures on earth, and this with the supposed advantage of possessing a mind and intellect that allegedly allows man to "know better". Man is the ultimate despoiler of the earth, above and beyond all other so called vermin.

  • "Our task must be to free ourselves...by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty." —Albert Einstein

Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of life on earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet." —Albert Einstein

  • The ending made me tear up... it's such contrast with what they had to endure, and in total darkness, no less.
