Also, the kid was charged with "resisting arrest." Arrest on what charge? (And please don't say "resisting arrest.") This incident shows the foolishness of the whole policy. Cops are trained and equipped to deal with criminals, not unruly teenagers. When you can only respond to childish taunts with criminal arrest, something is deeply wrong."

I don't believe for one moment he didn't do anything to deserve this. He was very aggressive in resisting arrest. Try that in the real world and see what happens.

@MondoBeno Police did not get called in this situation. There's a police officer stationed in this school throughout the school year, like many other high schools.

But you're right about the frequency of 911 calls in other cases.

I don't know why the police were called to the school, but it's happening too much lately. Back in 1996, the Principal didn't call the police unless it was for guns, arson, rape, kidnapping, or child abuse. Calling the police over student misbehavior would've made the Principal look incompetent.

Today, the schools call the police to arrest a kid for throwing a paper airplane.

At first he didn't do anything to be arrested, but afterwards he was resisiting arrest which is a misdemeanor.
