This is PART TWO of a TWO PART video I made from a recent visit to the Marshall Amplification factory in Milton Keynes UK.

Phil Wells showed us around the factory and we were shown many models being produced including the 1962, the JVM210 and 410, hand wired Plexi and the YJM100 which has just been released.

This video will probably show you the Marshall factory like you have never seen it before, and at the end of video two (this one) we show you some of the very rare amps at Marshall HQ including one of the very first Marshall aluminium plexi heads and of course the marshall No 1 chassis.

Check out this video - we show you manufacturing from chassis right through to testing, failed product and what goes on to fix those products - as well as amps in the repair shop from customers, shipping (see some amps destined for your country) and we answer why other countries can sometimes be slow to receive their allocation of Marshall amps.

This is a thoroughly enlightening video and Phil shows you exactly what goes on at Marshall... all in a great way.

There are some tips in these two videos too... so check them out but remember to get the best out of these two you have to watch them right through to the end of each one.

Don't forget to hop over to www.tonymckenzie.com to see all the reviews and other stuff for guitarists. The place for no bull**it reviews... see you there soon.
Tell them Tony sent you...

  • @nznaturopath Well Im old(ish) now but I remember those stacks at the end of the 60's and early 70's. The one thing I REALLY remember was the notes from the amp hitting me on the back of the neck. It was great kit but alas I never sounded like those two Hendrix and Santana and never will. Butthose amps really were at the peak in many ways. Volumes have rediced somewhat now with the YJM100 and its power reduction which I think is great. Anyway thanks for your comments.

  • @tonymckenziecom Oh wow, i got to try out a 60s era a while ago, and it was staggering. So i had hopes that this JH stack i got was going to be great, and i must say, i haven't been disappointed. The real mcoy trannies, pots, and other bits, the research they done was worthy of the tone. This thing rocks. I've owned many amps, mark 5 mesa, JVM, etc, yet not one came even in the ballpark of that weak in the knees "feeling" that moves you, the jaw drops and the tone goes right through you.

  • @nznaturopath There are not many of those I think around where I live. They are in the Marshall video too. Funnily enough Hendrix is the exact reason I picked up a guitar and the Santana 3 album was the runner up. That music still remains (at least to me) a timeless thing. Especially Machine gun which I rate as one of the best recordings. If the 100JH is half as good as that it would be a real thing to try out. I cant play that stuff but it remains awesome and is stuck with me for life.

  • @tonymckenziecom That's a pitty, being the best Marshall they have built in many many years. Nice to have a break away from the computer board models for a while - even though they are cool too. Request one, i'm sure someone lives nearby who would bring it around for a review. :-)) great reviews: respect. Oh, don't worry about the forum boys, don't bother even bringing them up anymore, just go on with what you are doing, its great, they are morons who properly love you mentioning them. :-)

  • @nznaturopath Thanks for those kind words... I dont have the JH100 stack Im afraid and have to buy everything I review at list price... so it might not happen sometime soon.

  • wow again! This was a fantastic video. Very logical and informative and honest! Good stuff! :-) Love for you to do a review and demos on the Jimi Hendrix Super100JH stack. If you haven't played one, its time too. :-)

  • 26 to 27 components on the JVM to pass an RF test... jawdropping

  • @DennChooch Yo... thanks for watching this - its a really great insight to marshal factory and what goes behind making them. You see things that typically don't always get seen... but in a good way....
