One of Les Paul's last interviews. It still gives me goose-bumps. This story and his last comment is so touching.

  • @hackiosa You mean if it wasn't for les paul.. the guy

  • @GrungeyMr lol would we have guitars like they are, if there were not les paul?!?

  • @hackiosa What? lol

  • Every electric guitar is in some way a les paul!

    RIP Les :)

  • Wow. Today im going to play my strat in honour of Les Paul

  • Damn his smart

  • i am a fender fan ,but my greatest respect for a true legend and pioneer, rip Les.

  • My guitar has his name on it! Les Paul was a GREAT guitar player too! In his last few years of his life his playing slowed down a lot. Old age. But the man's love for the instrument was always as strong.

  • lol WTF, a Jamaican named Headley Jones created the first electric guitar

  • without him rock n roll would never have existed, the blues would have died, and we'd all be raving to bach

  • looks like little walter wasnt the first to amplify the harp

  • you will never be forgoten les

  • @TheFlanker35 Yeah, but Airoldi was the first.

  • @fanfulladalodi79,

That's true, but I think Paul's guitar models became the standard in the industry so he should be considered the inventor of "the electric guitar" as his model was apparently unique from Airoldi's model and developed independently.

  • I still remember the horrible day, my brother shouted to me, "Les Paul is dead!"................

  • The fact that he actually played a guitar made from a solid length of railroad steel definitely makes him the world's first "heavy-metal" guitarist. :)

  • The first solid body guitar was made by an italian: Valentino Airoldi, in the year 1937, September.

  • I mean going back to the good old days of the real black american blues, who created the pentatonic scale, then came chicago blues (bigger band kind of sound), then to the real RnB and around that time this great guitar got its idea.

Just makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end knowing the timeline of this, music is the only thing that can move you apart from another human being (I mean some people dont move me that much apart from the people I love).

  • Right thats it, when I get my first grand for making software I am getting a reissue Les Paul, non of that epiphone replica guitar.

I love that guitar, even I dont have one but played on one in a shop, I quite literally was shaking like what if I was to run out right now, but didnt want to destroy it plus I wouldnt want to steal such a great guitar.

Such a shame though he died, I'm amazed people dont know who he is, that dont appreciate where music comes from, its a fascination of mine!

  • Let's not forget tape echo. My first amp was my dad's HMV valve radio. He was a cool guy he didn't mind.

  • truly amazing.

  • R.I.P. You amazing man

  • @MomentumMusic123 it would be crappy.
