In an inexplicable Back Step glitch, Parker assumes the outward appearance of the man he has come to save from an assassin's bullet. Parker's mind, personality and soul in the body of the 75-year-old pope, Sylvester V, creates some unholy happenings in the Vatican and on the "pontiff's" trip to New York for a delicate diplomatic mission at the U.N.
Sorry @x4wxp but Quantum Leap is not, "pretty much the definitive time travel show". If that accolade is deserted by any it would be Dr Who. Ran from 1963 to 1989 then 2005 to present day (32 years none consecutive). Clocking up 783 episodes plus specials, shorts, movies and spin-offs. QL 4 years 95 episodes.

Hearing the Pope yelling "Get off me you bast***s!" is a serious ROFL moment

@12chapin I think that was actually a nod/homage to QL more than a copy, since QL is pretty much the definitive time travel show.

ROFL. I was totally expecting 'Oh, boy' when he looked in that mirror. Too bad Al Calavicchi wouldn't show up with the handlink. A QL/7D crossover woulda been epic bad-assness on a cosmic scale.

@welshman010785 That's what I said. This season(2nd) was about copying from other stuff. Almost no original ideas. Maybe that's what the show was cut after the 3rd season.
