Interesting. To say that "all" ebay items are fake is just plain wrong! Are they out there Yes. Buyers need to be aware that not everyone is honest and sincere in what they are putting up for auction. Utilizing third party authenticators such as PSA/DNA; JSA/Beckett; GAI and a host of others is a good way to tell if an item is a fake. You made a good point about the quick check. I'd rather spend $7.49 and have someone reassure me than wind up with garbage.

@TomTresh2 -- I love your comments, I live near Ted Taylor and I have told him that 85% of the stuff he has authenticated is fake and he continues to get mad at me and I have known him for 10 years. I love your stuff and most of this stuff you can tell is fake if you have half a brain.

@TomTresh2 -- I live in Northeast Philadelphia about ten minutes from his Abington --home. Now Mr. Taylor in his meager defense does have an extensive Phillies and A's collection and he also knows Jimmie Foxx's daughter pretty well I may add but that does not make him an expert and I have seen some bad stuff and he changed the name of his authenticating company since the other guy Stevens got out. He used to run the A's historical Society in Hatboro , PA.

@millburyma: I have a autographed Mickey Mantle Baseball. I sent it to PSA/DNA & it was authenticated, by James Spence. It was one of his last authentications he performed while he was still with PSA/DNA.

Watch out on Craigslist too, they will just buy balls and forge them, and muck them up in the dirt to look like a game used ball.

@TomTresh2 --- Tom, he and JSA once had a disagreement about a Bae Ruth signature because it is alleged that Ruth did sign occasionally right-handed and but James Spence said that is ludicrous but -- if it isn't alnd handed signature I would say it is not real too so I agree with James there; Tom. I think on one-hand he reallt thinks the stuff is real in "his mind", but he also knows Lee @ Coach's Corner and if I am not mistaken he has a small stake in CCSA ; I could be wrong but I think not.

@Carbonmask02 -- buy a JSA or PSA authenticated ball but not from an auction house as these letters have been proven to be just as bad as forgeries have been known to get passes through the mostly "good" stuff. You want a stand alone letter cause they then scrutinize that individual item. Hope this helps.

@TomTresh2 -- check out auctions #20 & 805 in this months coach corner auctions. #20 is on a ball that cannot be more then 10 nyears old therefore Jimmie Foxx could not have autographed it. and #805 is just plain bad same flow to the signatures if you pay close attention, actually it isn't bad but a forgery nonetheless or clubhouse at best.
