Railfanning in Decatur, IL - April 18th, 2009

[Watch in HD] Caught 9 great trains today while the Decatur Train Fair was going on. This is a must see, and please share with your other railfan friends! The first out of many "Railfanning Decatur, IL" videos you've seen on my YouTube page.

Train #1: NS 301 starts off the day with a really nice consist. He met 32Q at Midway. Taken at 12:21 p.m.

Train #2: NS D37 comes in with two GP units and one CNA boxcar. Taken at 12:50 p.m.

Train #3: The CN's Mattoon-Decatur local, L550, finally returns. Taken at 1:12 p.m.

Train #4: A very short NS autorack train hammers over WABIC. Taken at 1:51 p.m.

Train #5: NS 145 heads westbound to Kansas City with two typical C40-9Ws. Taken at 2:21 p.m.

Train #6: CSX got its chance to finally deliver a big string of ADM cars to the ADM plant today. Here they are going over WABIC to get the entire train on the NS line, and then will back up into Tate & Lyle. 32Q is asked to wait at Wood Street until CSX gets done with their job. Taken at 2:38 p.m.

Train #7: The CN Local that drops off cars for CSX used the power from the northbound train, and here they are going across WABIC, and then will back in, do their thing, and head back to the yard. The crew today was the most hilarious CN crew I've seen. Taken at 2:47 p.m.

Trains #8 and #9: NS 32Q comes into Decatur with a very cool engineer (actually appreciated the hat I wore today, probably thought I worked for NS or something) and usual power. Two C40-9Ws on his train, and as I pan to the right, here comes NS 66V (light power) flying past 32Q, with two C40-9Ws as well. NS 66V is due to go get pig iron and pull it from Naples. Taken at 3:21 p.m.
