2 old-time tunes which go some way to illustrate the hypnotic quality of Clawhammer Style Banjo. The first one is the well known 'Arkansas Traveller' followed by a tune called 'Fortune'. Sorry about the poor picture quality but it speeds up the up/download. Sound is OK though. Tuning is Double C (Capo 2). Comments Welcome.

  • @joeshea1010 Hi..Thanks for comments. Been away from Tyrone for a good few years....Living in New Zealand at the moment. Good to know there are Clawhammer pickers back home.

  • your style is great, thanks.

I'm in to Irish music. when I play clawhammer think always it's real good for Irish music, expecially Flings, hornpipes and some Rileanna too! dan

  • @DanDrochaid Hi Dan. Thanks for comments. I am Irish myself. Born and raised in County Tyrone and Irish music is my first love and grew up listening to reels & jigs etc. I have always had a fondness for Appalachian music and have no doubt it is heavily influenced by the music brought to the mountains by the Irish migrants.

  • Your banjo has a great tone~ nicely played..

  • Many Thanks

  • I like very much the tune called Fortune. Never heard before. Very HYPNO music, for a trip in the Old Time Rocky Mountains

  • Beautifully played. I bought a banjo yesterday and your skill gives me a goal to strive for. Thanx.

  • Great job! You've really got that Galax lick down!
