My progress so far in making a working Coandacraft. It begins to hover under less than half throttle but spins. This is due to the fixed anti torque vanes working too efficiently. They are to be cut down and/or countered with two sets of gyro controlled vanes, giving heading control (when i've made the mechanisms). However, the more throttle I use the steadier it hovers, without as much spin, rising half a foot without trouble. More soon

  • The ani-torque vanes can't adapt to the changing revolution speeds of the motor. A second rotor rotating in the opposite direction of the first will do it. This second rotor will add to the crafts lift instead of eating up the energy like the vanes does.

  • hi, thanks for your comment - you are right but i added two sets of adjustable vanes after these initial tests as you should be able to see on my other video. they are controlled by a gyro that detects the rotation caused by torque and corrects it. I am currently on version 1.2 and have added a vid of it in it's new configuration in initial tests.

  • I've added another video now - having completed construction on the 2nd of september and carried out the first test runs on the 4th.

  • been in London for the week so i've not done anything more so far - i have to pickup the last two servos for the vanes tomorrow then i can begin the last hurdle. I am using a 10x6 propeller for now, will try others if it works! the one i use fits perfectly but i think it may be intended for I.C. engines. The other i have was definately an electric motor prop but was such a loose fit it caused more vibration

  • AXi2808/24 - as you can see - the fixed anti-torque vanes i have already put on are working! but too much! i need to trim them down once i have fitted and checked(the effect of) the gyro controlled vanes. The ones you can see are directing the downward airflow against the torque rotation. I'm happy so far. Thanks for your comments

  • Лучше бы сделал два винта, чтобы вращались в рахных направлениях

  • maby a dyson vacume would be good for the coanda effect.

  • nice helicopter

  • Does it rotate without the vanes? It looks like they are directing the air clockwise on its way over the body to cause an anticlockwise reaction.

  • i would like to see some one make a hybreed between lifter /coanda uav.

  • Torque. Contra-rotating props.
