See my blog at http://stevemaller.com/blog/2008/01/15/leopard-and-time-machine/ for more details.

I removed the 120GB hard drive that came standard in my 2.33ghz Macbook Pro and replaced it with the 200GB 7200rpm Hitachi drive. Here's what it looks like. Thanks to the guide at iFixit.com for the hardware instructions.

  • YOU HAVE SPEEDED UP THE VIDEO

  • @Benedictninja You are a genius.

  • I wish apple made this sort of thing easier to do and not void your warranty. I mean the macbook had a simple way to upgrade the hard drive, why not the pro?

  • The new model Macbook Pro is similar to the Macbook now. None of this is necessary any longer.

  • @mallermedia Hahahahhahaha!! That was funny shit man LMFAO

  • @mallermedia Yes and it makes the video useless to learn from.

  • i cand do that in a half a second

  • @mallermedia tks

  • @ftlPhysicsGuy Right on man. I actually attempted to replace my ram on one of the previous generation Macbook Pros. I somehow managed to damage the clip holding it and of course that meant the whole logic board needed to be replaced and not the area I damaged. I had to fight like hell just to get them to repair it since they dont allow accidental damage. If they dont want you going inside, you should at least be able to make an appt at the Genius Bar to do the "dirty work"

  • 7200 rpms will eat up your battery life you guys, so if you really just want to upgrade just the memory without chopping into the battery life stick with the standard 5400 rpm hard drive that comes with it. Remember if you do decide to upgrade the hard drive period to get a 2.5 inch SATA, not 3.5 inch.

  • @housefreaker who is chuck norris?

  • @housefreaker no he wont hes a lil bitch!
