@davaman111 The majority of the million or so Second Life residents stays human. Especially in the areas where new people hang out, human avatars are going to be about the only kind of avatars you will see. This has changed a little bit as Linden Lab has added new beginner avatars to the choices for new residents, including two new animal avatars. To get some affordable animal avatars my recommendation would be to go to Grendels in Second Life and look around.
It's the sky we cross. XD There is nothing like having to watch them soar from a tiny's perspective, and having to interact with dragon-soul kin. XD Beyond words.
If you mean getting into SL... alone, it's hard to get into it. Finding a mentor helps a lot. In principle it's a three-step process, but I'm sure you know that:
1. Register an account (free)
2. Download the client (also free). Mind, there are alternative clients out there that offer slightly different user experiences.
3. Log on, find any newbie mentors (usually plenty in the new people areas) and spend a week or so learning how it all works.
