  • I am so so sorry for your loss. I know she will always hold a special place in your heart. My sincerest condolences.

  • Awww Mildew and Squawktina sound gorgeous :))))

  • this magpie looks like a nsw one? vic/tas/sa magpies have heaps more white on them. how did you end up with a pet one?

do they sleep standing on one leg?

  • She was a NSW maggie, I found her alone by the side of the road when she was a baby. Yes she slept standing on one leg a lot lol.

  • What an adorable little bird. I'm assuming she is an Australian Magpie? I'm sure she had a good life with you & is now perfectly healthy back out in the wild. I know what it's like to loose a bird like that. I had a Crow from a baby named Merlin. After 5 years with me she got away when I was moving her from 1 aviary to another, that really tore me up.

  • Im so sorry about Merlin, I can really empathise. Yes, she is an Australian magpie (and what a character, they are so intelligent). Thank you for your kind comment :o).

  • i have a baby wattle bird

  • 1:44) Is that her in death?

  • @flailinginge: Sadly we lost mildew on Tuesday. She had been unwell so we took her to the vet. It turns out she was unwell because she has a shot gun lead pellet wedged under her wing. This was from five years ago when we found her & we had no idea. It had started to perish & work its way into her system. When they had to put her under for x-rays she never woke up. We are truly devistated. Our house is just not the same without her.

  • When watching this I couldnt help but smile. I have 2 magpies Mildew who is 5. We caught her as she had a broken wing. She can no longer fly but is a great companion & lives a happy life. and Squawktina 7 months who showed up on our doorstep demanding to be feed & put to bed she was clearly still a baby.

Squaktina is a real character like Mushie. I never thought ild see another magpie like her till I watched your videos. I am so sorry you lost Mushie.

  • Mushie looks like she was a legend. We are lucky enough to be the guardians of a similar special creature. We call her Aussie. Hand raised and released to the wild, she keeps coming back and has a special bond with our dog. Type in 'bird loves dog' to see their amazing bond.

    Cheers
