English proto punk band. Song from self-titled album released in 1971.
Lyrics:
Waiting on a signal
Coming down the line
Load your magazin clip
I'll load mine

And don't you know i feel proud
Just to shake your hand
Don't you know i feel proud
Just to make a stand

Waiting on the roof tops
Looking for a sign
Pull your hand-grenade pin
And i'll pull mine

And don't you know i feel proud
Just to shake your hand
Don't you know i feel proud
Just to make a stand when the old man dies
On ascension day when we rise

Now when we rise
Power to the people
When we rise
Power to the poor
When we rise
Powe to the workers
When we rise
Power to us all

And don't you know i feel proud
Just to shake your hand
Don't you know i feel proud
Just to make a stand when the old man dies
On ascension day when we rise

Waiting in the shadows
When the bullets whine
Blast your automatic
I'll be blasting mine

And don't you know i feel proud
Just to shake your hand
Don't you know i feel proud
Just to make a stand when the old man dies
On ascension day when we rise

  • I saw this band at the Oz Police Ball in Covent Garden early in 1971. They were fantastic and stole the show. People were shouting, 'Who are you? Who are you?' The singer stood there, cool as you like, drinking milk from a bottle.

  • I saw these once playing support band at a tiny club called the Farx in Potters Bar (England), must have been about 71 or early 72. Don't remember much except I though they were good and they were pretty much unlike most other bands on the 'hippy-music' circuit at the time.

  • En pleine éclosion du Progressif, y a ce bon sang de rock gang couillu de 4 musicos qu'a sorti ça en 1971, just after la mort des illusions du paradis zippie. Un pavé dans la mare tranquille des paradifficiles alambiqués..

  • Best Ur-Punk EVER!
