A short film of my Liskeard to Looe branch model railway showing the running around of a Bachmann 2-6-2T Prairie at Coombe Junction that takes place for a train to reverse to either head on down to Looe or to return up the hill to Liskeard. Enjoy!

  • Certainly want to go on your line if they put a buffet on every train!

  • @JimTLonW6 i made this video to show the physical operational side, without reference to the stock... and had noticed the major discrepancy to actual practice there! However, I too agree, that such a service running on such lines should be offered! Hey, perhaps I'll ensure all trains on my railways are run as such from hence forth! Thanks for the uplifting thought!

  • nice one again John, you can fit a "weaker spring" to the points so they snap back to the other track after the loco has uncoupled and gone across them. an old dodge, older than me !!

    thanks for uploading,

    Howard

    YJ :-))

  • Unfortunately due to the need to run the train backwards again, very unprototypically to release the tension on the couplings over the uncoupling ramp, a derailment would probably ensue as the engine is fouling the points... ! Best leave as it is methinks....! PS I'll post more on coupling issues another time...

  • Yes, enjoyed that - I took a look at your vids earlier in the year - I've all the potential up in the attic too - a graham farish 94xx and a Class 37 but the temperature is hovering around the zero mark... I really ought to have a go at Wolverton (LMS) at least the bit where the Newport Pagnell branch came and went. The Bachmann Ivatt 2-6-2 is made for it and a brilliant slow runner - the 94xx is heavy metal and sounds like a swarm of wasps in a jam jar (bit like the Groundhogs - only joking),
