Actually Elvis debuted in '54 (Jackie went single in '57) & he was public with where he got his influences from ie the african american community he grew up in in Tupelo; watching gospel & blue performances a.s.o. Elvis & Jackie were friends & had a mutual admiration for eachother. They both had unique styles & in a way you can thank Elvis that we can enjoy this video today because when Elvis first came on dancing like this he was monitored by police & was only allowed to be filmed waist up.
