Chapter 47

( Melanee)

- Are you ready?- Kevin asked me. I looked around. I had all my stuff.
- Yes.- I said.
- Okay, we cant stay too long because Rizzo still needs her rest, so only for about 5 minutes okay???- Kevin said.
- Okay Kevin.- I said. That was only about the 7th time he told me that.

We walked out into the hospital hallway. I shuddered when I remember a nightmare about Jeff chasing me down a hospital hallway. I closed my eye. Hes gone. I said it to myself. Kevin put his hands on my shoulders and steered me into Rizzos room. Nick was right next to her bed in an arm chair. Mercedes was on her other side, and Joe was right next to her. When Rizzo seen me she smiled at me. It looked like it took all of her energy to do so. I winced. My fault.

- Hey Mel.- She croaked. I stepped into the room.
- Rizzo- I started but she cut me off.
- Hey guys, do you mind if I talk to Melanee alone?- She looked around the room.
- Sure.- Joe said and him and Mercedes got up. Them and Kevin walked out. Nick looked at Rizzo with worry.

- Nick. You heard the doctor. Im fine. I just want to talk to your sister for a minute.- She held his hand. Nick kissed it, then walked out. I walked over to the chair where Nick was sitting and sat down.
- Hey Mel. How have u been?- She asked.
- Awful. Rizzo, I am so sorry!- I gasped.
- Sorry?- ( FOR BREAKING ALL THE PROMISES I WASNT AROUND TO KEEP!)
- Yes, this is ALL my fault! You were just trying to make sure I was okay and you ended up- She cut me off again.
- Are you serious? You actually think this is your fault?!? MELANEE? How dumb can one person be? This wasnt your fault! You have been moping around for the past few months for nothing! Im fine! Im going to be fine! So get that stupid thought out of your head! ME BEING IN A COMA WAS NOT YOUR FAULT! Dont try to fight me cuz im right and you know it.- She finished.

I was surprised. It wasnt like Rizzo to just blurt it all out at once. I looked down at my hands. I felt tears behind my eyes. I didnt know why, but I felt like bawling. Oh. Well I DID know why.

Rizzo is right. Everything she said was 100 percent true. I am so dumb. I wasted lot of time eating away at myself for something that wasnt my fault. I felt tears coming down my cheeks.

- Its okay Melanee.- Rizzo whispered.
I got out of my chair and wrapped my arms lightly around her. I didnt wanna hurt her, I knew she was sore. More tears started to fall. She patted my back. I pulled away.

- Thanks.- I said.
Her eyelids dropped.
- Your welcome.- She said sleepily. - Tell Nick to go home. I am fine. Same with Mercedes. Tell them to get some rest and that * yawns* I will see them in the * half asleep* morningggg * sleeping*

I smiled. She really did need rest. I wiped my eyes and walked towards the door. I opened it and in fell Nick, Kevin, Joe and Mercedes.

- Ow!- the all said.
I laughed.
They all got up.
- We were- Nick said.
- Just- Joe said.
- You know..- Kevin said.
- Walking by.- Mercedes finished.
I smiled. - Yeah. Sure.-
- You ready to get out of here? You look exhausted.-- Joe rapped one of his arms around my shoulders.
- Yeah. Can I see Rizzo again tomorrow?- I asked him.
- Of course.- He said.

I noticed how tired I was. I almost fell asleep while we were all walking to the parking lot.

- Mercedes, need a ride?- Kevin asked.
- No thanks I have my car. Ill see you guys here tomorrow.- She kissed Joe. - Get some rest you two.- She said to me and Nick. Nick had been with Rizzo 24/7.
- K.- Nick said.
Mercedes looked at me. - Sleep.- she said. I nodded sleepily. Mercedes smiled and then walked to her car. We all got into Kevins car. Kevin driving, Joe in the passenger seat, me and Nick in the back. We got in and Kev started driving. I sighed and leaned my head on nick. He wrapped his arm around my back.
- Its all okay now Mel. Everything is fine. They are all gone and Rizzo is going to be fine. And she was right, nothing was youre fault, got it?- Nick said.
I nodded.
- Its all okay now.- He said.
- I know.-

And I really did know, it was all okay, for real now. It felt good to know that.

Yay first comment! I'm so glad that everything is okay for her. I hope it will stay that way for at least a little while, for Melanee's sake. I could so picture Nick, Kevin, and Joe leaning on the door listening in to their sisters conversation (if they had a sister) and I thought it was so sweet how she leaned her head on nick's shoulder and he put his arm arounf her! brother-sister moment! :)
