This documents Jim and I's quick trip down the Peace River in Florida. We started the morning of Aug 15 putting in at HWY 60 in Bartow and ended around 3pm on Aug 17 at HWY 41 in Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte.
First, thanks for the great video, I really enjoyed it. I have a couple of questions. Do you know how high the water level was when you paddled the river? Second, how much of that deep grass did you have to go through? Was that grass just south of Bartow HWY60 or was it south of Ft. Meade? I'm looking to kayak the peace river when the water level comes back up. Thanks for the help, before hand.
@mechanicmike69 Hey, sorry for the late response...I am not exactly sure what the level was when we left, but I know it was high. You should try to go after the open the dam to make sure the level is high. The deep grass was only for the first 10 miles or so right after HWY 60, after that you don't have to deal with it. It's beautiful too. It was definitely a nice trip to take! Let me know if you have any other questions.
