@ryanjwhiteecoboy Yes,i know its a progression,an artist learning and evolving..but it does not mean i have to like every album by a singer just because im a big fan.As i said,i dont hate it,i just prefer the songs/sound/feel (or whatever), of Cold Roses/Jacksonville/Love Is Hell.And..sorry Ryan..im not mad on Ashes And Fire haha .Good luck anyway!

@stillilllife Nah..that was just the way he sang at that time,Maybe thats what i meant,i dont like the way he sang on Gold(not all the songs!)..i mean even if you listen to Heartbreaker,you can hear the difference in his vocal style.Kurdt Kobain,looking back, didnt like the production on Nevermind..i think Ryan feels the same about Gold.

he says he would have been satisfied with 100,000 fans for 7-8 records. He now has released 12 albums and has 240,000 fans on facebook (however much that means) so that is cool

@tyais75 This is an exceptionally good comment. Very nice and I agree with you 100%. Ryan is one of a very select few artists in the world who can write something very special, play it extremely well, sing it extremely well, and means every word of it.

Ryan Adams is like no other artist that was or ever will be. His soul is painted with the emotions of 1000 souls and a 1000 lives. His music saves me. Gold is a great album, however, knowing his "state of mind" during the making of it sort of changes how I feel about this one as compared to later ones. The writing is always there for him, but how authentic is the music when you are being confined by a record company or flying on substance? I'm not sure. Either way I'll take what he gives :)
