our plan: we're getting old and i feel like i have pregnancy pains as it is and 2 years is a looooooong time so might as well start now. we're trying to pay everything off but every parent tells us that you'll never not be in debt with a child - plus, we're greedy Americans

@orangegoblin82 Good for you! The only reason I brought up the age thing was because I was reflecting on my own life. My parents had me when they were older. They are both gone now..my father actually died when I was 25. I'd give anything to have my parents here now. When I hear people my age talk about their parents..getting together on holidays and such..I have to admit I am happy for them but a bit jealous as well. I want you and Jake to know your grandchildren!

You guys will make GREAT parents. My only suggestion is to not wait too long. This life that we live goes VERY quickly and I think being a parent takes a lot of energy...energy that you have more of when you are young...

@stoner829 We are already on the way to doing it. 19 more months until I can quit work then probably 12 months from then till they get you the kid.
Jake was trying to start a discussion I think and is contrasting our situation of having to pay off everything we owe so we can stop work before they will give us one and a 19 year old girl he works with who doesn't even have a home and has got pregnant.
I think I would prefer to plan either way :D

Thumbs up for "little doggies"! Oh and caring for adopted children is pretty awesome too, it's just little doggies are soooo cute.
