This video was done as a test, using (1) room mic, as opposed to my other videos, which consist of raw audio from my camcorder's built-in microphone. David, the brainchild of Being, and I were experimenting with a jam session, and he began to record. In hearing how the single overhead microphone was yielding much better results than my camcorder's audio, and in what short amount of time we had, I decided I wanted to record a play-along to our intro song "CoSM". It's short, progressive, yet very groovy — a great song to set the vibe for our main opener, "Cosmonaut".
This one was also done a little differently, in that, I was only going based off the tempo of the song via click and headphones — I haven't done a recording of this sort in a while, and I usually dislike it, because it just seems devoid of being musical to me. Regardless if a backing track will be mixed or not, I feel I, personally, have a tendency to become too ridged in these situations. There may be a few here :)
Also, I must note: I still haven't transcribed or solidified parts for this one. Additionally, in becoming more comfortable playing the parts, I've found this song very easy for me to rush, since it's at 100bpm. While I enjoy the openness of the latter half of the song, created by this dragging tempo, I do wish that it were, say, about 20bpm faster — it's really easy to flub those 16th-note bass drum parts here. But, this is mostly improvised, based on how I've been performing it live — I still want to get more creative with a few areas, but for better or for worse, I'm satisfied with this single solid take as-is, and for what it was.
Thanks for watching!

David made a sans drums mix, and recorded the drum audio while I played to a click — he created a mixdown from there, and I just cut the audio from my original video and synced the original mixdown with it.
