Szabó P. Szilveszter, who plays/played the role of Death is a very good actor and singer and there are a lot of people who loves him, because of his voice. and yes, it's true, that he is a bit scary, but he is one of the bests and we like and love him! and there must be actors, singers who are playing the bad roles... and he is one of them... Idon't agree with you. Szilveszter's voice is magical...

I don't like the fact, that der Tod looks so "scary" here. He's supposed to look attractive, I would never fall in love with him this way. And he cannot really sing. And I don't like that the choir sings in the background. But I think it's cool, that they carry Ruldoplh on their hands and stuff.
Death gave the ball to Rudolf when they first met, during "Mama, mondd hol vagy", so it can simbolize their first meeting and strange relation since then, otherwise it is nothing more than a ball. I think.
Well, I've seen many versions of this song, and I've never seen either an appel nor a skull in it. Don't you think the ball is a little small to be a skull? I still don't get it... :S
