Looks like u had a big draft coming down from chimney by watching the automatic flue draft on top of water heater which cause to push gas vapor away from ignition. Whoosh!
-
DAMN, Old Nanny let out the gas!!!!
-
dam !
-
Thank goodness that didn't blow the whole house up.
-
ooh i got ya now i see them being blown in
-
those flapers above the two water heater tanks in the backgound is what i was
talking about that blast had so much
wind power that it blew thim open the auther way
-
sorry i dont understand your comment was there a fixed down draft diverter installed above this unit...where did the gas leak from to cause this i am very intrested cus as a gas fitter i want to know how to avoid this all i know is there was an uncontrolled realease of combustiable gas or un burnt flue products that it seems caused this???
this is why i was wondering if this appliance had a down draft diverter installed in the flue straight above the appliance??
-
note the the draft contral dampers on the
flues to those pare of gas water heater tanks got push open the auther way
from the convection casted off from the flash fire
-
it a small but loud blow the only way
that it can set fire is if combustible idems
got put up agenst it that someone just dose not do
the problem was that the heater circuit board had a short or wasn't installed properly. this caused the heater to release the gas improperly and when it tried to ignite the heater flame it would ignite all of the gas at once causing the explosion

it took us about a month to prove that this was actually happening... once we showed out bosses the video they fixed the problem
