  • I gotta give it to my sisters here. All this was before my birth, still Big Band music is very much in my blood and Dorothy Dandridge was my one of my Hollywood and musical idols. She is still missed. I was in grade school but remember her dying and how sad this made the people in my community. Thanks!

  • Good stuff. Lunceford's band was a really swinging organization, and the drummer, Jimmy Crawford knew how to swing his butt off!
