I adore this horse, she is all heart. I loved Secretariat, but she has taken over my heart., I've lost count of how many people I have educated about her, May she rule forever. Michele

@ZenyattaFanatic911, seriously neither horse would break down in a match race. Like I said before, History does not repeat itself. Every horse or I should say every living creature is different.

I believe the match races ended with Ruffian and Foolish Pleasure i think, that was just a bad day, and Ruffian had a lot of injuries before the match race. Well that was in the movie, I dont really know if she did have past injuries with her legs...but anyway I personally wouldn't mind seeing a match race between Zenyatta and RA but history doesn't repeat itself.

@rodeofan3 No more match races..... we've been thru that. I think they officially said no more.

@ZenyattaFanatic911 thats like saying to not run the preakness because barbaro broke down

@ZenyattaFanatic911 what a dumb comment to say that it would kill one of them. match races dont kill horses. Ruffian was a fluke, the busciut did ok. Neither horse would die, match race or not its the same distance it changes nothing

No, no no NO!! A match race will kill one of them, just like it did with Ruffian. Do you want RA or Zenyatta to break down?

There needs to be a match race between these two champion females. A match race is the way to go, two horses head to head, there wont be any horses for zenyatta to get stuck behind, and there can be no excuses. The best horse will win, none of that speed always wins talk, the fastest horse always wins. RA vs Zenyatta matchrace please, on the day of the Breeders. It will make it a huge day for racing. And it will be a great race......i promise

Yep,
no clue what will happen. Be nice if they do though. Will have to eventually.
That was quite some race she ran. She's sure something.

Mike Smith was kind enough to join us at our table in a restaurant in 2008, which thrilled my wife. He mentioned how avidly he was looking forward to his next day's ride on Zenyatta.
The next day, the Zenyatta legend was born. She went from last to first, exactly in the way we witnessed yesterday.
But as good as she looked to Mike that evening & as amazing as she looked to us the next day, it was impossible to foresee that she would be the first filly to win the Classic.
