CHORUS:
Well, I'm dreaming of the stockyards down in Oklahoma City
South Agnew by the stockyards down in Oklahoma City
Cause I'm oh so far from home now and my baby's all alone there what a pity

VERSE 1:
Well, I'm going to the stockyard where that old cattle callers callin'
Says get those cows up on that train now, to Kansas City we'll be hallin'
It's cold up north in wintertime and the Kansas City snow will soon be fallin'

VERSE 2:
Now, woman will you love me when I'll be leavin' out of town
I wonder will you love me when I'll be leavin' out of town
And how do you treat those menfolk when your alone and I'm nowhere around

CHORUS:
Well, I'm dreaming of the stockyards down in Oklahoma City
South Agnew by the stockyards down in Oklahoma City
Cause I'm oh so far from home now and my baby's all alone there what a pity
Cause I'm oh so far from home now and my baby's all alone there what a pity

  • My girlfriend loves this song...I think it has something to do with her growing up right 'er on 10th in Villa with her grandparents, aunt, uncles, and cousins. The house burned down shortly after her grandmother died of a heart attack, but she(my girlfriend) talks about the red-bud tree her Grandma Joan plated and how it will forever be there. It will forever stand strong, just like Joan.
