@PzAz04Maus Its unrealistic. An ICBM would reach the target long before you even fuel up your 747. For the airborne laser to work it has to be above the launch area at the time of the launch. You cant predict the launch area and time, let alone expect no one to shoot down a big ass jet flying over enemy territory.
I know what wild weasels are, but you are obviously unaware that they are relatively easy to counter. Might work against Zimbabwe but not against Russia for instance.

1) usually, launch vehicles usually have some very interesting and very big launch signatures for the missiles an airforce laser boat would be interested in.
2) You've never heard of Wild Weasels, I take it.

@Newmans1337 You can fit it in there alright, but the amount of capacitors needed would by far exceed the weight the plane can actually lift.
In any case lasers on a plane are completely useless. The idea was to have them fly over enemy territory to shoot down missiles at launch. Now who is going to tell you when and from where he is going to launch and let that big cow freely fly over it? Whoever had the idea is smoking crack.

In theory, this could work to protect a larger area than the Trophy. i.e. several tanks sharing the same APS
-
@THISNAMEOWNS yeah, there is always something to counter every offensive/defensive weapons system.
-
Oi, I'm guessing they have an alternative Soft Killer for open battles(Infantry out)
-
I don't see the incoming rocket. Sweet though.
-
I'd rather have trophy anytime.. this APS needs way too much maneuvers which take it precious time.
-
@bztheman you're right, but I don't think theres gonna be a laser powerful enough to vaporize a rocket on a split second and small enough to fit on a tank in the near future.
The guys inside the tank are fubar =P
u idiots trying to "figure out" this system don't even kno how insurgents operate. It ain't Call of Duty or some other video game where dozens of RPGs are constantly flying around. Insurgents usually shoot once, maybe twice and then run away b/c their objective is to hit and move not stay there and receive fire, especially if they're attacking an armored convoy that can dish out alot of heavy fire.
