Bit of a different one this week. Not at breaky as past offerings from this channel but, fresh, original and weight this track is. Taken off of the most recent release from Scan One's Yellow Machines label comes the track HELEM by an artist known as KALBATA. Nice dark tones start this one off as deep, moody synth stabs layer over the thump of crisp, punchy drums. Small percussion shuffles create the groove leading up to the first drop. The way this tune rolls out is wicked. Lots of drums, stuttering and skipping in a tight, formulated sequence, as a tidy distorted bass matches this pattern, helping the track to drive forward. There is a lot of energy in this tune that continues to build and the track progress. Synth stabs appear on the off beat, layering the snares as the bass sounds change, develop and evolve without any restbite in the pure, driving force that this tune has. One to make the crowds go mad. Out now on Yellow Machines.
Epic... ;O
