3dfx was brill but see when you think about it, they had thier own unique API aswell (glide) remember? In other words it wasn't an open API like OpenGL was so technically if you wanted the best outa the cards you had to use a proprietry bit of software, no doubt costing a fair whack, even though OpenGL was kinda supported although not as good as Nvidia so Im led to believe. They're not much better than Microsoft really when it comes to what they created. Not saying Ms was any better.

@Samthebam4044 Kinda supported? Not till Carmack created GLQuake. Direct3D was a joke at the time too.
