@bweazel you are not really bothered??? We have no Constitutional rights anymore, this is about privacy, is our right, violation of Civil rights, and you are not bothered??? are you american???

That's just tapping one line though. I'm not really bothered that they have the ability to tap people, just that they're copying the stream and most likely storing the data. Like the guy said, "It's not a wire tap, it's a country tap" They could have a history of all of us for all we know. I just don't like them having the ability and power to keep and control a database of every call, text or e-mail I've ever made. No one group should have such a power.

Heck, when I worked in the switch at SW Bell in Dallas there were always phone conversations on the loud speakers but that was for "testing purposes"

The disregard of citizens rights of privacy and threats to other rights of our freedom and liberty, by our own governments, should be viewed as far more terrifying than any 'outside' terrorist threats.
Love the part about "retroactive immunity" for the phone company for committing crimes against the American citizens for years before they got outed.
