This my first of several photo essays that I have just begun working on about street musicians in New York City. I have long been intrigued by street musicians and my desire to learn more about them inspired this artistic exploration.
This is a first draft version, to start getting a feel for this new medium of still photography with audio for me. I also plan on doing a painting to accompany each photo essay.
The subject of my first essay is Natalia Paruz who is probably better known as the Saw Lady, playing her musical saw at the Union Square Subway Station.
Please check out her web site at

The music she is playing is Choral by J. S. Bach.
