Cintas Corporation, national business services provider, was ahead of the curve 2 years ago when it became one of the first companies to offer its truck drivers a four day work week instead of the traditional five day week of most companies.
Cintas quickly found that this new procedure was not only good for workers, but also good for business. Cintas truck drivers work 4 10 hour work days a week. 50% of Cintas Corporation's truck drivers in North America, across all business divisions, have transitioned to this new 4 day work week.
Cintas has found tremendous cost savings. The new four day week for its drivers saves company money on truck maintenance and saves on gas, helping to offset increased energy costs. Cintas has also seen less employee turnover as a result. Cintas hopes to have 90% of its drivers on the new schedule as soon as possible.
