Dr. Iona Heath and Dr. Jozé Braspenning - Pros and Cons of Pay for Performance - Part 3 of 5

The 8th of April 2011 Dr. Iona Heath and Dr. Jozé Braspenning hosted a Panel discussion on "Pros and Cons of Pay for Performance" with Dr. Kees In't Welt as chair at the 6th EQuiP Invitational Conference in Copenhagen.

Dr. Iona Heath worked as an inner city general practitioner at the Caversham Group Practice in Kentish Town in London from 1975 until 2010. The practice is in one of the more deprived areas of London and continues to be at the cutting edge of general practice. She has been a nationally elected member of the Council of the Royal College of General Practitioners since 1989 and chaired the College's Committee on Medical Ethics from 1998 to 2004 and the International Committee from 2006 to 2009.

She is currently President of the Royal College of General Practitioners having been elected for a three year term from November 2009. She is a former Chair of both the RGCP International Committee and the RCGP Ethics Committee and has been a member of the WONCA (the world organisation of family doctors) world executive since 2007.

Dr. Jozé Braspenning is an associate professor at IQ healthcare, Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre in The Netherlands. A social psychologist by training. Specialized in the field of health care research mainly on the development and application of valid and reliable indicators on clinical performance, practice management, and patient experiences.

Most of her projects are in primary care, that is general practitioners and physiotherapists, and the focus is on internal quality improvement as well as accountability. She has an honorary appointment at the University of Manchester.
