A song my buddy Bali wrote for a project we have. I don't play it that great but just wanted to put a better sounding clip of what the pickup sounds like. This is a demo of the Dimarzio pickup CrunchLab 7 I stuck into my (Indonesian) Ibanez RG7321 (with the bar facing the bridge). I think it sounds great. The amp is just a Peavy 6505+ with the gain around 1 o'clock. It is a very balanced pickup, but its special characteristic is the high amount of mids it has. Its bass is not overpowering which is perfect for higher tech riffing. Every note comes out clear. A con I can think of is that some people might not find the high amount of mids appealing. Personally I like the sound of other pickups for soloing, but for riffing this pickup sounds amazing.

  • Also I hope you're Project is going well. You've got a little diamond there. You're mate wrote an awesome song ... but your recording is waaay better than his ^^ Now I don't ask for tabs cuz I know it's so much work and I don't want to rip you of but ... can you recommend a band/song who might have influenced you guys to write this? Cuz I want to develop a bit into this direction to and imitation is a good way to start ;) Keep on rockin' !

  • @MXopti Periphery, Sikth, Born of Osiris's latest album is really good, the upcoming Safety Fire...there's a lot. Circles is good too

  • Hey, important question. I have the same guitar and I'm looking to put in the crunch lab and liquifire. But do you have to cut any wood of the guitar. Because I know there like .2 inches bigger.

  • @TheOriginalPhatMan I didn't have to. It fit in fine for me.

  • @cheesyplay3000 REally man?? i just bought a pair of Liquifire and Crunch lab and doesn't fit the holes of the screw

  • @HektorInfante That's weird. I don't know man, all I know is I didn't have to do that...

  • Hey great playing man!

  • Dude this is sooo awesome! It's very progressive and at the same time it's as dope as the deftones in their best moments. I'm glad it deos't sound like all that "djent" stuff, i like this better.

I found this because I was planning on upgradeing my (korean) RG 7321, working through forums and stuff. I'm going the petrucci way now. Basewood body + Liquifire/Crunchlab. It'll be better for me then x2n7 because i like to play "big chords". You helped me making the right decision. Thanks!

  • Hey man, thanks for the great video! It sounds awesome. I picked up this axe today and it sounds great, but I know I'm gonna swap the pickups soon. Was thinking Bareknuckle but you may have swayed my vote... thanks man!

  • @joshdavidstead I just got one today and it holds tuning really well actually. I'm still gonna upgrade to locking tuners like I always do, but I don't have a need to.

  • Important question, does the 7321 hold tuning? 'Cause I doubt it..

  • sounds like Periphery
