I got stung by jellyfish when I was maybe four years old? I didn't go back in the ocean for about a decade. Regardless, jellyfish are fucking beautiful, so I don't mind their existence. x)

Yes. That is the current wisdom.
And also that they are fragile, and a struggling fish might easily damage them, so the fish needs to be immobilised quickly.
I have a few full docos on it in my playlists.

I've seen these on animal planet the only way you can see these bitches is with an underwater flashlight but most of the time even that doesn't work!

The chironex fleckeri can be easily seen on sunny days by its shadow if it is in shallow water. Thats the easiest way they say.
But the irukandji is way too small for that.
They are usually never seen.
I guess thats why irukandji werent known until the 1960's even though they were around for milennia.
