Sidney Crosby vs Alexander Ovechkin: The NHL's Best Rivalry

The best player rivalry in the nhl, and perhaps in all of sports. This video definitely took me the longest to make out of all my videos, from about 1:15-2:45, some of the clips are lagging due to a problem that i had with one of my video making softwares. Watching other Crosby and Ovechkin videos kinda inspired to make a crosby and an ovechkin video, but i didnt feel like making two separate videos of them, so i combined them. i know i didnt include several plays by both players and i left out a lot of hits from ovechkin, but the video was already long enough so i didnt include them for that reason.

@nevertweet015 You can't just use team playoff results as an indication of individual talent, otherwise you're saying Kirk Maltby is more clutch that Kirk Maltby was more clutch than almost anyone currently in the league. Ovechkin has the 2nd highest all time Goals Per Game average in the playoffs, almost half of his goals are with his team behind in the score, and he's never failed to be at least a PPG player in the playoffs.

@kdfsjljklgjfg you do when he's being paid 9.5 million over 9/10 more years to be one of the best and he's not delivering, also Ovechkin's never made it out of the second round and has lost 3 out of the 4 game 7's he's played in. He's far from a playoff monster

@WOWZZZZZZZZAS Oh? And what is wrong with them? Would you prefer that I use the fact that Ovechkin has the 2nd highest all time Goals Per Game in the playoffs, behind only Lemieux? Or how about that in elimination games, Ovechkin's PPG is 1.35, well over TWICE that of Crosby's 0.67.

Both are good players so i as a pens fan will say sidney crosby. Ovechkin is a great player in his own right. But there is one stat that everyone is forgetting, Crosby has one Stanley Cup to Ovechkin's goose egg.

@nevertweet015 You don't just buy out a 30 goal scorer, especially if they could potentially come close to 50 again. Not to mention Ovechkin is still a clutch playoff monster.

Ovechkin days as one of the best in the league are over he's a one way player and everybody knows the way, he's not in as good of shape as he was and he's not nearly as physical as he used to be. He'll never score 50 goals again and unless he turn's a Kovalchuk and becomes a two way team guy he'll be bought out by the Caps within 3 years.

@Ninjamoniscool Crosby being better in clutch moments is completely false. For example: Ovechkin's PPG in the playoffs is 0.03 higher. Not much, but inconclusive. 44% of Ovechkin's playoff goals are with his team trailing, to Crosby's 26.7%. Crosby has been held scoreless in the final 2 games of a series a whopping 41% of the time, to Ovechkin's 25%. Crosby has been held scoreless in 66% of his elimination games, to Ovechkin's 1.25. Ovechkin is MUCH more clutch than Crosby.

@WOWZZZZZZZZAS 66 points in 41 games = 1.60 PPG. 09-10, Ovechkin had 88 points in 52 games, good for a 1.69 PPG.
