I have a tear in my eye right now, hearing this song that I've loved for so many years and seeing the images of Guy and Susanna, thinking about him and how much she meant to him. I hope he just sits down and writes the best goddamned song of his life about her. He's gotta be hurting right now. Prayers for the living and the dead.

Guaranteed Wholesome Dancehall and Saloon, Huntsville Texas, 1974,

I was 17, my cousin Dan knew the guy at the door and got me in. That night was my introduction to what was then called "The Austin Sound". Man do I miss them days AND the music.

Wish Texas was like that agin.

Guy Clark is one of the hidden gems. His music is like and old friend like a shot of sippin' whiskey, goin' down smooth.

Here's to you Dan,Miss ya cuz, You left us much too soon.

Nobody writes like Guy Clark. The only one who came close was Townes.

So glad I stumbled across your channel. I've been a fan of Guy's for years but would you believe it's been nearly 20 years since I've heard his music. Music lost due to divorce. And as much as I love his music for some reason I never thought about him, guess memories of that relationship blocked the memory. I'm healed and boy oh boy have I enjoyed getting reacquainted with what seems to be an old friend! So, thank you!

Saw them many times while growing up in the hill country of Texas in the 70s and 80s...two hearts in one body. God bless Kyle and rest easy Miss Susanna.

Rest in Peace Susanna, it was a thrill to get to know you. And hang in there Guy. Some book ends keep on without the other. My sense is there's more great work to be done.
